Renovation Electrician in Geelong

Renovating your kitchen or bathroom? You need a renovation electrician in Geelong who turns up when the other trades need them. That's us. Kitchens are our best work, and we do bathrooms, laundries, extensions and whole-house renos too.

We're based in Belmont and work right across Geelong, from Grovedale to Geelong West. We deal with you directly, not through a builder, so you always know who's doing your electrical work.

An electrician for renovations who works with your trades

A reno has a lot of moving parts. We talk directly with your plumber, cabinet maker, tiler and builder, so the electrical work fits in with theirs and you're not stuck passing messages. Good communication is what we're known for.

Rough-in and fit-off: the two stages

  1. 1 Rough-in. We run the cabling and fit the boxes while the walls and ceilings are still open, before the plasterer, cabinet maker and tiler close everything up.
  2. 2 Fit-off. Once the walls are finished and the cabinets and tiles are in, we come back to fit the lights, power points and switches and connect the appliances.

A kitchen is usually a couple of days on the tools, spread across the reno around the other trades. That's the rhythm we're used to working to.

Kitchen renovation electrician

A new kitchen usually needs more power than the old one. Think a dedicated circuit for the cooktop and oven, extra power points along the bench and on the island, and USB points where the phones end up. Then the lighting: downlights, pendants over the bench and LED strip under the overheads.

We work from your layout and your cabinet maker's plans, so every point lands where it should. No power point hiding behind the fridge.

Bathroom renovation electrician

Bathrooms are about lighting, fresh air and warmth. We install downlights, exhaust fans and heated towel rails, and we time the rough-in around your plumber and tiler so nothing gets tiled over before it's wired.

Laundries and electrical for extensions

Laundries need the right power in the right spots for the washer, dryer and any extra appliances. Extensions need new circuits, lighting, power points and often ceiling fans or an air conditioner circuit. We plan it all with you before the frame goes up.

Will your switchboard cope?

Renovations add new circuits, and older switchboards often don't have the room or the safety switch protection to handle them. If yours needs work, we'll tell you upfront and include it in your quote. See our switchboard upgrades page for more.

Whole-house renovations

Gutting the whole house? It's the best time to replace old wiring while the walls are open. Our house rewiring page covers how that works.

What customers say about working with us

  • ★★★★★
We couldn't be happier with the quality of work Zack did on the installing our spa. Running power to the site was seamless and a really neat finish and the meter box got a complete update as part of the overall process. Pricing was incredibly competitive and with no issues at all since we'll turn to Zack for any future work we ever need. A pleasure to deal with.

Renovation electrical work — FAQs

When should I book an electrician for my reno?

As early as you can, ideally while you're still planning. That way we can help with the layout and fit the rough-in around your other trades. It's much easier to add a power point on paper than after the cabinets go in.

Do you work with my other trades?

Yes, and it's one of the things we do best. We talk directly with your plumber, cabinet maker, tiler or builder to line up the rough-in and fit-off, so you're not stuck passing messages back and forth.

Will my switchboard need upgrading?

Sometimes. New circuits for a cooktop, oven or air conditioner can push an older switchboard past what it can handle, and new circuits need safety switch protection. We'll check your board and tell you upfront. See our switchboard upgrades page for more.

Can you quote from plans?

Yes. Send us your plans, photos and as much detail as you can, and we'll get things moving. A site visit is always ideal, and we'll usually want to see the space before we lock in the final quote.

Do you do bathrooms as well as kitchens?

Yes. Kitchens are our specialty, but we also do bathrooms, laundries, extensions and whole-house renos. For bathrooms that's usually downlights, exhaust fans and heated towel rails.

Do you install air conditioners and hot water units?

We do the electrical side. We run the dedicated circuit and make the electrical connection, and we work with licensed partners who handle the rest of the install.
