What is included in a residential tenancy electrical safety check? Our licensed electricians inspect the entire electrical installation at the property, including the switchboard and circuit breakers, all accessible wiring and connections, power outlets and light switches, safety switches (RCDs), and any fixed appliances such as hot water systems and ovens. After the inspection, we provide a written record confirming the check was carried out — which landlords must retain for 5 years under the regulations.
What is included in a smoke alarm compliance check? We test all smoke alarms for correct operation, replace batteries, and replace any alarms that are outside their service life or not functioning correctly. Victorian law requires smoke alarms to be in working order at all times during a tenancy.
